The check engine light came on and when I brought it to Advanced Auto Parts the print out DTC code is P0455 and the description is EVAP Emission Control System Leak (Large). Can anyone help me I just need an idea of what the problem could be? Thank you!

If they are talking about evap emmisions i would check the filter and the vaccumn hoses going to the can. Have a fun day

This is an easy and common code for newer cars. Your car does an EVAP test periodically to make sure you are not venting gas fumes to the atmosphere. It has a pump that pressurizes the fuel tank, that pump is set to run for a specific time to reach a specific pressure. If it does not reach that pressure at the specified time, then it will assume there is an air leak in the system that needs to be repaired. What can cause it to not pressurize at the correct time? The two major causes are running with extremely low fuel and running without the gas cap.
This is not a major problem, if even a problem at all. I would just check the gas cap, make sure it is on and tight, I would also recommend that you not run below a quarter of a tank of fuel. The check engine light will go off after a little while, and the code will be automatically erased from the memory if it does not happen after a number of starts. So personally, I would not concern myself with this code. When people would come into my dealership with this code, I would just reset the light and give them the same info.

It can also be just a loose or defective fuel cap. Buy a new cap and drive it for a week and see if the light goes off.

i own a repair shop,and this is the sensor that mounts on the evaporator canister for it,its under warranty ,so id take it back and have the dealer repair it for free,why spend money when you don't have to,but that's what it means,and a lose gas cap will also set this off also on it,good luck i hope this help,s,and have a happy thanks giving.
