My boss is always timing me when I go on breaks she watches me like a hawk. She never does this to anyone else in the office. My co-workers notice it also. We have a girl in the office that is late to work everyday and she doesn't say a word to her. I have been there the longest and I am a great employee, I am to work on time I do what is asked of me and more. I don't understand. Please help me out here. What should I say or do?

I would arrange a "sit-down" with the supervisor to discuss your feelings and her "close supervision" of your work time. Ask her why she has singled you out. Let her know that it is making you uncomfortable, and since other employees are aware of it, it is coming awfully close to establishing a "hostile work environment", which is illegal, a form of sexual discrimination. Let her know that you have options (going to HR, filing a complaint with EEOC), which you don't want to utilize, but will if the situation does not change.

Let her know that, beginning immediately, you will be keeping a log, recording any employment decisions, good and bad, time, date, person involved, witness, issues and reasons.

First, you need to keep a written log of what issues you feel are infractions. If it's written down, it's admissible in court!

Second, once you've done this, you have something to go to their supervisor or to HR with. If no one is above her (such as in my case as I'm the owner of the company), then request a meeting and have an honest and frank conversation with your manager. Be prepared for some cristism back (it should be constructive and honest).

You may wish to start looking for other employment opportunities. It's possible that she's looking for a reason to terminate you. Especially if you have the seniority you say you do as you're probably the most expensive employee on their payroll. Just CYA until you've made a decision in what you want to do.

Good luck!

Talk to someone because you are an employee at your office, and you have served everyone and done a great job, but ur being treating unfairly. speak to someone above your boss and share your concerns with this treatment.

Well, if I was in your shoes I would not be there very long. Ever thought of looking to work for yourself instead? There are honest home-based businesses out there and I, for one, can give you information on the one I am involved in if you are seriously interested. My email is rpelley5@yahoo.com.

I would ask her if she doesn't like me and why is she timing my breaks. If she can't give you a decent answer.
Call HR and tell them your being harassed. Document and get witness's otherwise its just your word against hers.
Nobody should be watched especially when they are long time employee doing their job.
