i dont think theres such thing as water stains. water doesnt stain.

Wher i live we have hard water deposits. Here we take our rigs to the car wash oly. Try soem fine rubbing compound. Have a fun day.

If you mean water spots on your windows, try vinegar.
The spots are condensed minerals - vinegar will break them up nicely (and not harm anything else).

when you wash your car make sure you wipe your car off good. when you wax your car you can also buff it that will take off surface scratches and spots that are stubborn.
