This is such a pain
i don't know where you are from , but i experienced that yesterday ( here in UK) late evening ,

it was so slow, i gave up and shut down , in the end .

May be a fault in the cable system
Or Gremlins tinkering with our reception.

Mine seems OK so far today', thank goodness !!

not sure what the cause is ,
but it is so frustrating ,when that happens.

Hope you will be back to *normal * very soon

Might be a daft answer but try shutting down and rebooting. I got into the bad habit of leaving my laptop on all the time (just shutting the lid) and all the processes esp the browser got very slow. Rebooting sorted it out straight away. I think it's the system log gets too full.

I have been having the same problem recently it happened once before it turned out to be the fact that too many anti virus blockers were running at the same time. I turned off all blockers except for one and it ran a lot faster
