i mean, like if u went to channel 57, why is it channel 57? why isn't it 60?

Hey, man. What a great question, seriously. Maybe the higher the number, the younger the channel in age? like channel 7 was created before channel 20 maybe? Just a guess, this is going on my watch list :)

They originally named them after the frequency I think they went from 52 to 980mgh.
Above that was uhf.
FM channels went from 88 to 108 I believe. They do have lower than 52 but I believe this was for return channels.
The new digital TV may have changed a lot of this.
Thirty years ago I could have told you a lot more .

They started out 50 MHz. as ch 1 and about every 5 mhz up the real Question where did ch ! go. There were some Eng. that thought that it would interfere with peoples brain wave.
