The war on terror is comparable to the war on drugs.
Both relate to operations of the secret service departments who are the controllers of the world's drugs, and the provocateur in terms of terrorism. They actually conduct the most sensational 'terrorist' events themselves like 9/11, 7/7, Madrid train bombing, Bali bombing etc.
So Bush's policy is just a part of the propaganda story.
Of course its not right by any normal moral standards, but these do not apply to politics or government.

I think he is wrong. This war in Iraq takes the focus off of the real issue of getting the terrorists. Bin Laden is still alive and well and he does not seem to concern Bush in the least. He would rather create another Viet Nam in Iraq than find Bin Laden. In my opinion he has created far more terrorists than before with this ill planned war in Iraq. He made martyrs of thousands of people that were innocent, women, children, elderly. He has turned the goodwill of the world after 9/11 into pure hatred for America. I think the only reason the USA has not been attacked is pure luck, nothing that Bush has done. I cannot see that his policy has been beneficial to anybody. Certainly not to almost 3000 dead USA troops and 655,000 Iraqi men, women and children that have died from this. Most of the country realizes that Iraq is a huge mistake.

WRONG in many respects...!!! But mainly because 9/11 - (and earlier terrorist attacks on the WTC) - happened because of US foreign policy - viz:

(1) - The US ALWAYS favouring Israel over the Palestinians...
(2) - maintaining a relentless campaign of round-the-clock bombing patrols against Iraq - which lasted 12 years...! - from Bush 1's war in 1991, until the start of Bush 2's war in 2003...!!!
(3) - maintaining an equally relentless campaign of crippling sanctions against Iraq - for those same 12 years...! - (depriving that wretched country of essential medicines and thus indirectly causing the deaths of some 3 million Iraqi children...!!!)

I am not convinced he has a policy against terrorism. Its not a policy matter to want to stop a terrorist from killing you.

Assuming Bush has a coherent policy, it is not the policy but the protocol he is applying toward advancing the policy that is failing.

He is, literally, dead wrong. That is more people are dying as a consequence of his policy than from terrorist activities anywhere in the world.
In addition, he is keeping us in a constant terror alert while anyone of us (except for our courageous military who are also victims of his policy) has more chance to get run over by a car or be killed by a"lawful" American in our own neighborhood than to ever be physically hurt by a terrorist act.
We were all affected by 9/11. It was a horrible event and we all had the right to feel angry, hurt and even experience some desperation and paranoia. . .for awhile.
But by fostering this constant terror within our country, Bush is provoking continued stressed for all of us which is more damaging in the long run than a one time event.
In addition, he is fostering the creation of more terrorist cells all over the world. He is spending our tax dollars and mortgaging our children's future in a war that CREATES more terrorists. For example: We are currently friendly with Canada. But if Canada chose to invade Washington State, half the population of Washington State would raise to defend their territory, their way of life, their home. Half of these people would then be tagged as "terrorists" by the Canadian who would be killed by American "liberty fighters" also known as "terrorists."
BUSH IS WRONG

He is wrong. There has always been terrorism and because it suits his needs he chose to wage a war on "terrorism". How do you wage a war against an enemy that wears no uniform and has no country? There are better ways he could have gone about it. He just calls any country who doesnt agree with his policy a terrorist country and these war mongering fools believe it without looking into the matter themselves.

He started with the right idea. getting those sobs that caused 9/11, but when he went into Iraq he screwed it all up. I believe that if he had been more CONSERVATIVE in his terrorism policies that he would have been able to have actually taken steps towards defeating terrorism and not increasing it.

heartfelt, we had not been attacked during all of the administrations after FDR, so why would it be good thing that Bush wasn't able to stop the first attack, but able to stop all attempts afterwords?

What policy against terrorism? . . are you referring the shifting of critical resources like Homeland Security funds away from obvious targets to "pork barrel" places like Wyoming?

Well, I'd rather fight them on their territory. However, I believe that he falls prey to political correctness when speaking of Islamo Facists. If he could give the historical perspective on the Islamo Facists, I think more people would understand why he believes we need to do what we are doing.
