If I am trying to remember something, and it's 'on the tip of my tongue' as they say, I just do something else for a while, and eventually - even an hour or more later, it comes back to my memory. Another trick is, if you have a good idea, write it down. Some people keep a notebook and pencil on their bedside table for just this purpose. Only trouble is, what seemed like a great idea at 2am, often seems really stupid in the cold light of day!

This is symptomatic of several psychological problems, OCD, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression, Bi-Polar Disorder to name but a few.

Ask around and find a health care professional that will LISTEN to you. If the first one won't, keep trying. You pay them not the other way around. Sometimes getting rowdy on their bums is the only way to get them to listen.

Best of luck to you. I suffered with OCD and PTSD for years before I could get someone to take me seriously.

This is a symptom of adhd, flight of thought. If its something simple your trying to remember like a place or name, try going through the letters in your mind [a to z] it should trigger you to remember
