I personally would never go on television to settle a disputer with someone.

A lot of the people who go on those shows live in rural areas where there is probably not much else to do in the way of entertainment. I think its exciting for them... they get free airfare and hotel stay in an exciting city and a check to boot. I guess for them its worth the embarassment. I also think that some of those really extreme cases are actors used to elevate the show's drama element.

Free trip and a nice Hotel room. The general public quickly forgets because someone else was on and made a real *** of themselves. Besides, doesn't everybody want their 15 minutes of fame? Some people just don't embarass as easily as others. As for myself? For the Free Trip and great Hotel room, I'd make something up. HAHA

i know what you mean! why wash your dirty linnen in public as the saying goes? as its a private matter, it should be between the people involved in that situation only- and not for show. jerry springer is the worst example of a chat show- and those people that go on that show probably only went on it so they could have a fight, as well as for the attention. its the only programme that i know of that allows people to curse and hit each other. its sad. and some of the topics they cover on there- range from being silly and stupid to the downright absurd. and you've got members of the public chanting and soaking it all up and egging the people to carry on fighting!

i wouldn't go on those types of shows, regardless of how much they pay me. i wouldn't risk to 'confessing all' and all for the sake of public humilliation , as well as embarassing myself in the process

I personally wouldn't do it.
But some people may see it as the only resort? They may have been through that much hell with " the affairs" or the "troubled teens" that they need to find people that can help.
With loads of people watching throughout the whole world, they are bound to find that help.
BUT
I spose sum people only do it for the publicity, and the ££.

no.. but they tend to be scum most of them..people like them do not have the same values as most. they are the fishwives that would scream in the street etc.. most of them will never have a better life..its the environment there from, and the fact they are obviously not very intelligent.

They have nothing better to do.
I wouldn't want everybody to know about my problems.
