My right upper eyelid seems to go lower than my left upper eyelid, so you can see the rim of the left one but most of the right ones covered. People say its hardly noticeable but its annoying, I shouldn't have one lower than the other at my age! I don't know why its like this, some days it looks perfectly fine, others it is fine when I wake up and gradually gets worse through the day (like today) and others its just bad all through the day.

Any ideas what I should do? Like I said its apparantly 'hardly noticeable' but I want them to look the same like they did like 2 years ago. Is it because I'm tired or is it cause I pluck my eyebrows too much or whatever?

Don't link to googled websites please (Ive looked at loads) just give me your own personal views/experiences. ty

Do you notice that it's always on one side? Is your cheek, or the corner of your mouth affected too? Has the corner of your mouth EVER drooped? You could have had Bell's Palsy at some point, and still be having some of the effects. I had it right after my older daughter was born 11 years ago, and sometimes still have the drooping eyelid. It happens most when I'm tired, or have been doing too much close work, like reading or making necklaces, or even staring at the computer screen too much. I've been told I could have a surgery to tighten the muscles in the upper eyelid, but it's more of a nerve problem and will never fully go away. Take it from me, it really is not as noticible to people around you as it is to you. Another thing, you might get your eyes examined because you may have reduced vision in that eye, leading to more squinting, which makes the eye muscles tired. Good luck hon.

It's really hard to be sure without seeing a picture of what you mean. Most people have some assymetry in their eyelids and if it's hardly noticeable, it might not be worth trying to fix, especially as you are so young.

It might just be that you have more eyelid fat on one side than the other or your brow sits lower on one side, so it's covering more of the eyelid.

I don't know if this applies to you, but if you are of Asian origin, it is fairly common to have this problem even at a young age and is usually caused by too much skin covering the eyelid. But as long as it is not affecting your vision, I wouldn't worry to much. If when you reach 18, it still bothers you cosmetically, you could see an occuloplastic surgeon who can remove the excess skin, so the eyelids look more symmetrical. HTH : )
