When I rip my CDs to my computer Windows media player finds Album info, yet it is not always accurate. Sometimes it cannot even find the album or it misses out songs. Why?

This is because some albums have many different versions. UK versions versus USA versions, and extended versions. It will try to pick the one that is most likle the CD you are ripping in, but sometimes it can be wrong. You can find it yourself manually. I have also ran into some pretty crazy problems, where it looked like the right album, but when I told it to go ahead and use the info, it came up as something totally different. It's nice software, but it still has plenty of woogies.

I've had this and it's a pain in the obvious. I think it's because for less common albums, Media Player looks at other sites where people input their own info. And it's usually wrong in some way.
There is an option somewhere to edit the info that's going in.

(I've just checked and it's right click on song/album 'find album info' wait while it goes online then at the very botton left there's two boxes 'search' and 'edit' and a blue info box on the right.)

Your computer looks up the pattern and length of the tracks on your cd, against a database of all cds, When it finds a match it returns the track information names etc. If its a new or rare cd its possible the track information has not been entered into the database.

I think I'd find someone that knows computers, it may need an update or something done to it. Lucky for me I have a friend that knows how to do what I don't . Ask around and if you can't find anyone then call a computer shop and at least ask what they think you might need. Hope it gets fixed.
