Personally speaking, I would give it mixed reviews. This degree absolutely does open some doors to management that would be closed otherwise. In my case, since I had a technical undergraduate degree, the business courses were fresh information. It is true that some MBAs are working GED qualified jobs. However, I would say that this situation cuts across all careers. The other responder's assertion that MBAs from prestigious schools have an advantage is correct. The reasons for this is as much who you meet at the University of Chicago (or wherever) than the better education you receive. Nevertheless, job performance was and is the more important factor.

It's a rather useless degree. My husband has one but has never got a job in the field. His Masters in Artifical Intelligence has served him much better.
There are alot of MBAs driving cabs and working in fast food!
