With great difficulty!! It's very fine dust that has come down the cavity walls or got in behind the skirting board. Lift the edge of the carpet and seal off the gap with a good dose of decorators caulk.

get some Vanish moose carpet stain remover and enable it soak into it for a jointly as, yet dont scrub or you will rub the stain in, only blot with kitchen roll till each and every of the moisture is bumped off, reliable good fortune, at last that is going to come out, save attempting.

Its difficult - I use biological washing powder in some hot water and scrub with a small scrubbing brush then wipe with a clean cloth it works but very tedious. Once you have done it try spraying with some scotch guard for carpets when dry.

i am guessing that the marks are from shoes? if so try a small amount of nail polish remover on the scuff mark- small amount is the key-- if it is on the actual carpet do not use this remedy---
