Fox makes a big deal about being 'fair and balanced' and stressing hard 'facts'. This equates to portraying two polar opposite sides of a story in a black and white fashion with one side being considerably more developed than the other. A developed side can vary greatly in content, but the ones that generate the most discussion appeal on a purely emotive level.
Many of their most famous reporters such as Bill O'Reilly Ann Coultard (sp?) also seem to believe that because some people find them offensive, that this means they are hard-hitting journalists who scare people with the scandals they uncover and their truth telling.
Pair this with the yearly discussion of anti-Christians stealing Christmas away from all God fearing folk (and a general undertone of how the world is trying to destroy Christianity) and you'll find that most people develop strong opinions about the network - hardly anyone walks away neutral.

"They are the middle ground news reporters. The three major news stations are so biased and liberal, but Fox tells the other side too. I am thankful for the truth being told at Fox. "
From Europe, ALL American TV news looks supine and beaten down by the Republicans as if it wouldn't dare tell an independent truth, nor ask an independent question that would embarrass the Republicans.
And thern you have Fox TV, where all pretence of independent and unbiased reporting has been thrown out of the window.
At least in Britain we only have a dominantly right-wing print media to deal with (only? I remember scabby little rags like The Sun during the miners' strike).
TV is restricted and MUST deal in fact rather than opinion. but the worrying thing is that the same despicable right-wing Thatcherite little goblin who owns Fox TV also owns Sky TV in Britain: FOX is a terrible, terrible warning about what Murdoch would do to TV in Britain if only he could. His print media is vocal about "derestricting" TV so that he can do in Britain what he does in the USA . At present SKY TV is just within British law, but if derestriction ever happens, Murduch has a ready made FOX-UK to foist on Britain, Gods help us.
BTW, as Americans, aren't YOU worried that one non-domiciled foreigner - Rupert Murdoch - who may not have your country's best interests at heart owns so much of your press and TV? It certainly scares us that this one man has so much scope to unchallengedly force his opinions on people!

Can't beat the answer about ne cons - Fox News is one of the nastiest most despicable bastardisation of the concept of news this side of well let's have a think what else does Rupert Murdoch own - oh yes - News of the Screws and the Scum.
They are the station that managed to popularise the sense (a wonderful piece of media distortion) that there was a liberal elite or a liberal bias in the news. To counter it basically a few Sieg Heils and a couple of jackboots and that's pretty much their agenda, nasty nasty nasty don't touch and wash after watching if you make a mistake while channel hopping

Fox News has a Republican-Conservative bias. When ever a news network as to advertise that they are "fair and balanced", something is wrong. They are more conservativly biased than any so called liberal biased news network. The people who watch it are either too stupid to realize this, or they like biasness in their news ( which of course is still stupid ).

Does CNN, ABC, NBC, MSNBC, have ANY exhibits that provide the conservative good any airtime? you won't be able to honestly trust that those exhibits are literally not biased. the purely reason you liberals don't love FOX and attempt to assert that they are biased is because FOX doesn't pander the liberal left. and they extremely provide each and each and every area a danger to modern-day their critiques and arguments.

Tha's why people like them. No messing around. Sometimes it's a little over the top, and that's what people like. Something between CNN and Montell Williams.

Fox News catering for all of your neo-conservative, Christain right wing pro-klan news views. I love it. Buring crosses and men in white masks, and a meglomanic in the white house, these are great days for a great news channel.
