Because she is the person I want to take care of for the rest of my life and who I want to take care of me. Because she is easily the best thing that has ever happened to me. Because every day is better than the last with her in it. Because there simply aren't words in the English language... or any language that express the deep love and devotion I have for my wife.

This is one of the easiest....and most difficult.....questions to answer.
When first married you would say for love. This person does it all for you. This is infatuation and we are all prone to it.
But after years of marriage infatuation is replaced by friendship and trust and a general feeling of family. If that does not happen the marriage is doomed...sooner or later.
Men marry for a full time sex partner that they truly care about. That is not the reason women marry. So because of this division from the very beginning there has to be much more to the relationship for it to survive. Both must have...and continue to have... some of the reason they married this person or they will be unhappy.

Opposites attract, the only problem with that is after 27 years of marriage you suddenly look up and the kids are gone and you are with this person that doesn't like to do the things you do. My advice would be to marry someone that has the same common interest you do. I got married because I was in love.

I fell in love hard. I wanted to insure we would be together for the rest of our lives and in my religion it is forbidden to have sex without marriage and it was becoming hard to avoid that part of our relationship so we got married so we could express our love in that way.

I married because I found my soulmate. I found the man I can be content with, never fight with, love with my very soul, and can picture being a father to my children. He hasn't let me down yet, and I try my hardest to be the wife he deserves.

I felt like just living together was morally wrong. He would've been content to just live together though. Maybe I shouldn't have made him marry me, then it would be easier to leave.
