Make sure to wash your hands. If they smell anything that smells like food it may cause them to bite. The main thing you want to do is handle them daily. You may want to wear a pair of gloves until it learns not to bite. Approach your hampster slowly when picking it up and be sure to make sure it is fully awake.

Try different hamster food - until you find one that he really likes!
Give him some toys to bite on.
Or - maybe he does not want to be handled so much!
Speak russian to him - there might be a language problem!

You know, I was on the verge of getting one of these. At the petstore I go to, they handle the pets, so they are used to it. I was looking at these little guys and thought "OMG they are adorable!" So I went to pet one that was running around, as I didn't want to wake one up.....the little creep bit me and would NOT let go of my finger. I ended up shaking him off a little too hard and he flew up against the glass and died. The pet store worker told me that they will bite almost every time they are handled....who wants THAT? I LOVE animals, but I have zero tolerance for being bitten and I feel that he got what he deserved. I hate them, I won't even let my kids go near them in the pet store they are EVIL little creeps!

I often wash my hands and do away with the fruit or foodstuff scent on your hands. My hamster does an identical, it is going to nibble on me if I scent like foodstuff. attempt putting some water or moist your hands, my hamsters have a tendency to lick me if I do. in the event that they do no longer end, attempt giving them foodstuff on your hands, consistent with threat they could differentiate it next time :)

You can't they bite and there is not much you can do about it. I like rats, they do not bite, are smart, can be trained to do tricks, will come to thier name and are cleaner.
