Once they get in the new edition do they throw away the old ones or could I possibly buy them for a lower price or recieve them for free?

They give them back to the distributor for a credit. You could maybe ask who the distributor is, and then ask the distributor what they do with them.

If only they would sell them at a lower price then we would all wait for the mark down. Since they don't though we have to buy them at regular price. When the "stand time" is up, the company that distributed the magazines comes back and rescans all the mags that didn't get sold and the store gets a credit that can be used on their next order. This is why we use the lovely basis of accrual accounting so we don't pay cash when we get them and then have to get a cash refund when we don't sell them all. ;)

Different stores probably have different policies. I think sometimes they just through them out. You'd have to ask the store. I know some stores through out the greeting cards for holidays that have past. It seems like such a waste as the holiday will come again.

ALL the local magazines are sent back to distrubuter for credit. all overseas magazines are ripped of from its coverpage and garbaged. they send out coverpages for proof and get credit. no they dont allow employees to take home. if thats the case all employees will save a copy for themselves

they go in the trash with an X on the cover.
THey only cost the company about 25 cents.

they send back the banner (title of magazine) for credit and recycle the pages

they keep those and then sell on lower prices after sometime.. juz ask an employee when they're gonna do it

throw them out...stores dont give away anything but food to shelters
