- Sometimes I feel like I'm not good enough for anybody

- I find it hard to focus on the good aspects of my life.

- I feel like there's a raincloud floating on my head.

- I don't take joy in things I used to like before (taking walks outside, riding my bike, etc.)

- I have a dad who's bipolar, which increases my chance of getting it.

Is this just teenage angst or should I be worried?

Sounds like you may be depressed. I feel like this alot and I suffer from depression. I have to take meds for it. When I am on them, I feel normal and like I can do anything worth while. When I am not, I feel worthless, not good enough, like I am too stupid to breathe. I know how you are feeling. I would see a doctor and explain how you have been feeling. He may put you on something to help. There are many meds available and he will provide what he thinks will work best for you.

Good luck and don't give in to those feelings or thoughts.

I don't think you should let someone fob you off with a 'teenage angst' response to your problem. I think depression can affect anyone at any age and consequently should be treated seriously. If you feel worried about the way you're feeling, maybe you could talk to a doctor you trust,or a school nurse, maybe a friend or even your parents if you can talk to them about how you feel.

You might get it naturally. Maybe you can try talking to someone who can help you focus on the good stuff. DONT take pills for it unless it gets really really bad. Sometimes the med for depressioin can actually make it worse. I think exercising is helpful. Try going for walks - it gets your energy up, you start to feel better about yourself and you have time to think while you walk. I ran when I was your age and wore headphones. It definately helped me be more happy about myself. Maybe join a sports team? I have a 14 yr old myself now. Good luck I really hope this helps!

You should try and find someone to talk to about this. Teen Angst can easily convert into depression, so it would be a great idea to seek out a therapist. Especially since bi-polar can be genetic.
Hope you feel better soon, sweetie!

You really need to let your parents know how you are feeling. You should also talk to your doctor. They would better know how to diagnose you. If it is depression or a bipolar condition, it needs immediate attention! These are the years in your life that you grow into yourself. Don't let the genuine you be altered by such negative feelings! Seek professional help and grow up being happy with yourself and your life!

It could be both, some is just teenage, but could turn more serious. The best thing is to talk with your parents or talk to a school teacher/counselor. Who ever you choose just make sure they are a trusting adult.

The best thing to do is go to a doctor and get a psychological evalutation. They can determine what is going on with you, you are old enough to be diagnosed with depression.
