Yes, it is. However, that doesn't stop me from doing it! :D

I have SUPER curly hair and straighten it 90% of the time. But, my hair is not damaged because I've developed a sure fire way to keep dead and split ends at bay.

I've been told many times that my hair is EXTREMELY healthy. Especially for being straightened every day. People don't believe me when I say that I have super curly hair and think that I was born with gorgeous, shiny, healthy straight hair. (I wish... It'd be a lot easier) I swear, this is the trick:

I use Pro-V's Time Renewal shampoo and conditioner every day.
Once a week, I use a very strong deep conditioner called Reaction B-3. And the most important part: I make sure to get any dead or split ends cut off every 4-6 weeks.

I don't recommend getting your hair chemically straightened as it usually leads to beyond damaged hair that you can't fix... My aunt had hers chemically straightened against my advice and hated it. It was straight, yes, but it was pretty much dead. She's had to simply wait for new hair to grow in because there isn't a deep conditioner on the face of this planet that would help her hair.

If you can't find the Pro-V Time renewal shampoo & conditioner, try using a moisturizing combo. If you can't find Reaction B-3 (I won't lie; it's hard to find at salons), find something similar. Although, I highly recommend trying to find it at all costs... My hair was wrecked before I began this regimend, which was about 7 months before my wedding. I swear the Reaction B-3 was what caused such a drastic and fast transformation, and I've been telling anyone who will listen about it since! Also, change up your everyday shampoo and conditioner every once in a while. Finally, when you're just about to get out of the shower, do a final hair rinse in ice cold water (bending forward at the waist and flipping your hair forward helps to just ice the hair, not the body). This seals in the moisturizing properties of the shampoo & conditioner and also your natural moisture. Good luck!!!

Straightening Hair Everyday

If you are using a good shampoo and conditioner, but a cheap straightener, then the straightener, without a doubt. If you are using cheap shampoo and conditioner and a cheap straightener, then you're beating your hair up pretty badly. If you are using cheap shampoo and conditioner, but a really really good straightener that isnt burning your hair, then the washing every day. I know that a lot of people are on this whole "no washing" kick, but seriously, some people need to wash every day. If I dont, not only does my hair look greasy, I know it, I swear I can smell it and my self-confidence is zero. None of these things are attractive. Good shampoo is worth the money if you have great hair.

Yes, straightening your hair every day is probably not the best for it. Over time, the daily heat exposure will strip your hair of it's natural oils. and the heat will damage the ends. I remember when "crimping hair" was really popular in the 90's. I was 7 and my mom bought me one of those crimping irons. Well my mom helped me crimp my hair every other day and it eventually damaged my hair. It took years for the damage to grow out. I had really bad split ends and my hair lost the natural shine. So straightening every day is bad for your hair. Using a conditioning spray before will help a little, but your hair will still get damaged.

Both are bad for the hair as both dry the hair. Although shampooing your hair daily is bad, you use conditioner to restore the oil that was stripped out of your hair. However, straightening your hair daily is worse. this can damage your hair.

It's not good for it really. If you do this you should use a deep conditioner at least once a week. Also you need to apply a heat protectant spray. I use nexxus heat protexx. It's abt $13 a bottle. I think thermasilk makes the heat protective sprays too as well as the shampoo and conditioner.

It depends on how good condition your hair is anyway. As a general rule yes, and if you bleach/highlight it it will be even worse, although some people seem to get away with it. If it starts to get bad - stop - my sister carried on and she ended up with singed hair =s

Everyday is not good. It may damage your hair and cause you to get split ends, I don't think you want that!

Yes, but it looks good, no? And even if it is bad for your hair you are still going to do it,right? Why don't you just put it back twice a week?
