Send them an unexpected message, maybe with a link to a good song from youtube or an interesting website you think they might like. I do things like that all the time :)

Make him laugh, often. that uplifts the soul! Gets all the right chemicals flowing in the brain....Oh and Sex works too, for that matter, but I don't know, if he is just a friend, or something more than that to you. Go for the laughter!!

Besides sending them words of encouragement, there is really nothing else you can do.Nothing can take the place of actually being there with the person.

Send him a really uplifting ecard. They are free at Hallmark.com, and everytime I receive one, I know it makes my day!

Just tell them that you care and are thinking of them. Also, let them know that you are there for them whenever they need you.

All they need is your strong and persuasive advise. If they are your family, you need the phone to talk things over. If they are not, don't trouble yourself.

I know who you mean--talk to him, be his friend, continue to care. He is really, really a good person inside! (We are talking about C here, right)
