Horary astrology is an ancient branch of horoscopic astrology by which an astrologer attempts to answer a question by constructing a horoscope for the exact time and place at which the question was asked. The answer might be a simple yes or no, but is generally more complex with insights into, for example, the motives of the questioner, the motives of others involved in the matter, and the options available to him.

Horary is time based answers to questions asked by an individual.
A question is asked and the astrologer notes the time and casts a horoscope on the basis of which a reply is given

Horary Astrology is the most interesting and important branch of astrology. We generally call it ‘Prashna Kundali”. This is not so easy to explain in a line or in a sentence. ……
You would have got the meaning of Horary Astrology through the above answers. However I will try to explain through an example:
One gentleman from Dehradun posted a Q exactly at 07:10 PM on 18/11/12006 …{Through this site} and his query was’ What will I do good in 2007 or similar to that; that is not a proper Q for horary astrology…so I will make a slight changes in his Q and thus make the Q to look like-“ Will I get success in my attempt in the year 2007”?
This is the maximum explanation that I can give through this site. No importance is given to English grammar-so excuse me.
The planetary position at 07:10 PM on 18/11/2006 at –74.36 E; 15.54 N –at the time of asking the question, were as following:
Taurus ascendant was raising so that is the first house; the ascendant or Lagna has crossed the midpoint and is placed in 21.10 in Rohini Nakshatra and its lord is Moon. Saturn and Ketu are in the Leo-without any residential strength. Mercury, Mars and Moon are in Libra. The combust Venus and the combust Jupiter are with the Sun in Scorpio; Rahu in the Aquarius. Mars and Venus have exchanged their house.
Now our answer to the gentleman’s Q: “ Will I get success in …”
The sixth and the seventh house from the Lagna are well occupied, thus a powerful Lagnaadhi Yog is produced. Therefore at the time of asking the Q the native is doing well. He wants to know about his progress in 2007.
[Generally in horary –one get Yes or No as reply, and mainly Jupiter’s position is considered for replying horary question. If Jupiter is in Kendra or Trikona, the answer is given in positive]—this is general procedure. In our Chart we have got the Jupiter well placed in seventh house-that is Jupiter is well aspecting the Lagna therefore a very big YES is given.
However, I will not give straight away a very big YES because there are certain important procedures to be followed. First of all we have keep in our mind that the native is doing well at the time of asking the query =because there is Lagnaadhi Yoga present.
The Nakshatra at the time of Prashna was Chitra and its lord has joined its enemy (Budha) in Sukra’s house and receives the malefic aspects of Shani, the Lagna was placed in Rohini Nakshatra and its lord the Moon was in debilitation in Navamsha, the lord of Lagna-Sukra was also debilitated in Navamsha chart and so the Yoga Karaka Shani. Guru that is placed in the seventh house is lord of inauspicious 8th house and is combust. The lord of Lagna is also combust. There is an exchange of house between lord of sixth and seventh. Guru’s good aspect is clearly go waste. Shani and Ketu occupy 4th house and the tenth house by Rahu. Apart from all these –the Lagna is placed in the mid position between Rahu and Ketu so a clear Kaala Sarpa Yoga is formed.
FINAL RESULTS:
NO, THE NATIVE WILL NOT DO GOOD IN THE YEAR 2007 AS PER THE HORARY CHART.
{PLEASE NOTE THIS IS JUST EXAMPLE CHART}
