I am from the city and it is rare to see a horse here. but when I have seen them they are always dark brown. I know they come in a lot of colors.

So what color have you mostly seen them in?
And were are you to see them? city? country? circus etc...

Mostly I have seen medium brown horses.

I have also seen:
Black Horses
Palomino Horses-Very light with white manes and tails
Appaloosa horses-Could be greyish or pale-ish, but typically with spots
Grey horses
Roans
Chestnuts
Bays
Even a few white horses.

Mostly in the suburbs. Many communities have horse neighborhoods.

The white horses were usually seen at a circus - The Famous Lippizaner Stallions

I have also seen them at racetracks, rodeos, and parades.

Edit: The light coloured horses are usually rare in the Southwestern United States because the predators tend to target them first, especially in the wild. Owners of light coloured horses tend to prize them specially in that area, and keep them safe from predators.

Colours like grey (no matter the shade), dark navy and even dark greens are very neutral and conservative colours that would go well with any colour horse. I say you just choose a jacket that you like and that fits you well because hunt clothes are versatile enough to match your horse no matter what the colour. I have a tan, navy, and black hunt coat and all three look good on all the horses I ride.

I have seen horses in black, dappled, white all sorts of colors and depending on the breed as well...never a purple, green or blue horse...unless you count the Wizard of Oz! LOL You can see horses mainly in the country but some are just on the outskirts of town and there have been a few times when i have seen them in town. There are usually horses in parades as well.

Horses are black, white, grey, two-colored. My favorite is the Palamino, they are blonde colored with white mane and tail. Absolutely beautiful.
