family pc or home pc are amongst the most expensive, leaving out gaming pc's., cause u need multimedia, tv tuner, good sound & all
so first criteria would be the operating system has to be win xp media centre 2005, not xp-home or xp-pro
gimme u'r budget max. or preferable & also the monitor u prefer
can scan exact then plus other personal preferences if any !

scan the dell outlets for refurbished stuff
>> they great actually, normally wrongly configured for client & hence returned or maybe some scratch / dent !

I like dells, you can order online, the very best is to find a hand me down from a geek in your family, most geeks want the new super fast computers, but the ones they get rid of are great as a family PC because most just surf information,

Commet Electricals are amazing I got mine for under two hundred and fifty pounds and it runs amazingly fast 512 mb ram, and 3.0 gig processor.
I can run multiple applications and files at once and get decent downloads if your looking for a budget pc go their prices are amazing you won't get robbed.
Pc world rob you so do maplin mind you to an extent aswell

Woolies are doing good deals lately. Just bought a decent laptop for £399.99.
They do desktops too.
PC World have some decent ones, but don't let them persuade you to buy extras or insurance.

to be honest - you cant beat pc world or currys. theres a lot of hype surrounding dell and the like but the support is rubbish and there's a lot of horror stories!!
stick with the high street on this one. you'll get no support from ebay!

It's good for gaming.it's better to choose a Dual core CPU with higher clock speed because games usually need more Clock speed.anyway this CPU is good for gaming.8600GT is a good graphic card but it's not good for professional game in high detail or max detail.good luck
