I like just taking the computer to CompUSA or Best Buy and paying the little bit extra to have the correct memory installes, some mother boards wont take a bunch of memory and if you do it yourself you really need to know how,

if you know how there was a website I googled that sold memory and they did a online test and talked to your computer and found out what memory you needed

First you need to look for you systemboard specifications and there you will find what kind of mem you have . If you dont know how to do this , then go the site from where the pc is from , like for example , if its a HP , then you have to go to www.hp.com and look in the support part for your pc. Now also , open your pc and look for the mem banks , see how many sltos you have BEFORE you even buy another mem module . Write me if you need more info ok

it will be DDR probably DDR266 or DDR333 but DDR400 will also work ... buy locally and if theres a prob you can always take it back to the local store ... Ram has become so competitive in price that you should only pay 1 or 2 dollars more than online stores
