No since sperm/eggs are produced in the gonads and those are glands on their own. However, it will greatly diminish your metabolism probably to 0 since it's the gland that's in charge of that. It'll also affect your calcium metabolism since the parathyroid glands are directly attached to the thyroid.

I work in a hospital and i have never heard of this! I suppose if your on some sort of medication it may affect it but your doctor should of warned you before. I wouldnt worry.
