Prostitution itself is legal. But prostitutes are not allowed to sollicit on the public space. Procuring / pimping is illegal. A prostitute is the only one person who can use the money she earns. She must pay her income tax !!!. The old luxurious brothels ("houses of tolerance") as well as the registration of prostitutes have been abolished in 1946.
The age of consent is 18.
