Both of them are being influenced by each other. Indian television and Indian Movies are not truely representing India as basically any media generally represents the matters which will benefit them because they too have to survive in this competitive world

ofcourse, bollywood is influencing society!
in earlier times, u could hardly get 2 hear dat a woman is married 3 or 4 or even 5 times!!!!!! but now, since both tv & cinema r showin all this stuff, so , v have promoted rselves !!! from 1 marriage to 4!!!!!
well, dat was just a example. but , i strongly feel dat bollywood is influencing the indian society

Society does not influence bolly wood but bolly wood surely affects the society. Indian movies and television do not represent the true India. They represent the film directors concept of India like Nehru's discovery of India

There is an old saying that "Art imitates life."
Yes, Bollywood is an exaggerated version of society and our lifes ... and the society gets carried away by whatever is shown in movies. Both influence each other!
