If your mascara is water proof and you are having a hard time washing it off, you might be damaging your lashes. Try not to rub you lashes when washing or get a make up remover that will remove it easily. I use Maybellines Curl Lash. It is inexpensive and great. I don't have to curl my lashes. I have heard that the curling intrument does more harm than good. It pulls your lashes, so maybe try not to use it for a while. See if there's a difference.

I don't know about the brand you use, but my daughter is 20 & has always curled her lashes since she started wearing mascara. Recently, a few of them have started falling out. I told her she had better stop using the curler because she wouldn't have any lashes left. I am her mom & I know because I always used a curler until I was about 35 & barely have any lashes left. Well, she bought this Maybelline mascara that has an XXL printed on the tube. It has a conditioner for curling on one side & and color of the mascara on the other. Her lashes are bone straight & when she uses this product, it looks as if she curled them with a curler, they are just beautiful. Why didn't they have that when I was younger? I would still have some lashes left. It is inexpensive, too!

Have to add something. Just went & bought the Maybelline XXL mascara & it works quite well. It thickened what few lashes I have left & curled them right up. I am pretty happy with it.

Your not heating it, are you?
Most of the new mascaras are made in a way that they can curl your lashes. I would not be using this anymore. Just use the mascara brush and apply delicately. The curler might be too heavy/hard for your lashes. If your still fairly young, your lashes may be delicate.
Make sure you wash your mascara off every day(if you use it) with a gentle eye make-up remover.
There are some eye lash conditioners on the market now that help keep the lashes strong and conditioned.
Try eating more foods containing Vit B and iron, eg, fish, wholemeal bread/cereals, low-fat meat.
Oh - and only apply 1-2 coats - don't over do it - your lashes are delicate!

I use Max Factor's Masterpiece Mascara. It curls, thickens and lengthens. It costs a little more, but it's well worth it! You should try it, it's very gentle and it works wonders.

You might be allergic. My eyelids used to be itchy, my lashes would fall out and there would be dead skin flakes on my lids. I would switch your mascara. Try CoverGirl.

if your lashes are falling off, i'd suggest not using it anymore. i do curl my eyelashes if i want my eyes to look bigger, but your lashes shouldn't fall out.
