I've heard this before and i've tried a few times. My cramps are never that bad but i do think maturbating helps. I don't know the exact reason why. It may just be a case of taking your mind off it. Like iff you stub your toe then someone slaps you, you're brain will switch off to the toe for a while. Your brain tends to concentrate on things that will be more important, during sex and masturbation any kind of pain will feel less significant, or men or women.

No. If we can relieve the suffering and pain by using natural mean, I am sure it is OK. There are hormone secreted when you reach your climax during masturbation that relax the muscle and relieve you from stress and pain. Masturbation for the pleasure of it is also not wrong. I could not find a Bible verse that condemn it. It is just socially culturally unacceptable that is why many people feel guilty about it. I do not see moral ground that it is a sin or wrong. It is only wrong if it hurt someone or cause someone harm. I think we should be free from this myth that masturbation is a sin and wrong. There is no biblical ground. Masturbation is not adultery and not a form of fornication with others. It is does not affect other people emotionally, sexually and psychologically. It does not cause unwanted pregnancy. It bond with no one emotionally. It is to relieve oneself of sexual tension, stress and unhappiness by releasing dopamine, vasoprosin, oxytosin etc which lower your blood pressure and neutralize the stress hormone which cause ulcer, pain dan unhappiness.

the question could also mean masturbation before actual menstruation since there is menstrual cramps before the period. I dont know HOW per se but I think it's true that it helps avoid menstrual cramps, I don't know where I read it... (and I'm sleepy to research on the net, sorry)... I'd like to know how it does, too! zzz

There are a couple of reasons why this works.
1. The muscle contractions that you have during an orgasm helsps to relieve your cramps.
2. After an orgasm, your body releases feel good enorphins that help your muscles to relax and a mild feeling of euphoria will also occur.
3. The muscles are naturally relaxed after an orgasm, so the cramps aren't happening in muscles that are relaxed.

I assume it's the same reason they say sex can relieve them. It supposed to relax the muscles or something so they stop spasming and giving you cramps. I've found that sex makes my cramps go away for about 5 minutes.

it releves them beacause ur distracted in pleassure instead of on the cramps,my gf does it and it works 4 her
