Yarn game: Get a big ball of yarn & have the mommy-2-b walk around the room. Everyone cuts off a piece of the yarn, guessing how far around she is. No touching her! The one with the closest match wins. (I still get talked about with this one, my son was 10 lbs. My grandma just kept goin' & goin' (ok grams...) & goin' & goin'''(OK grandma!). Well, she won.

Guessing game: Put some baby items in a pillowcase, & have everyone guess what they are. Teether, duck, onesie, diaper, block, etc. The one with all the guesses right wins. (trust me, not everyone wins & throw a clincher in there like a medicine syringe or something). I also hosted my nieces baby shower, and as most baby things come in packs, I took the rest of what was in the packs & put into a big basket - this was her gift from me.

You can also do a memory game with these same items. Put some on a tray, walk around the room with the tray, and then cover it up and everyone has to remember how many items that they saw.

Search-a-words went great at the showers that I hosted. Crosswords did ok too, but make sure that you're picking the easy ones. The key to who's going to win these, is time them. Or whoever completes first, wins. You can download these free from http://www.welcomebaby.com/baby_shower_games.htm or just do a web search on "free printable baby shower games) you'll get a ton of sites.

I personally never liked the chocolate bar in the diaper game. Seriously, eewww. And, a waste of expensive diapers.

There's also a ton of games on a website that I found.

I've hosted many parties, and they can be expensive to host. Enlist help if you're not rich! We always make it a potluck, we have a big family. We didn't do the parties like weddings, just some balloons & streamers, and minimal with the table decorations. As for the time of the games, it depends on how long you have your party for. I suggest keeping the games to a minimum, as most of the time will be spent chatting & mommy opening presents.

I have a couple of games:

You need to get a roll of tissue. Everyone pulls off the amount of tiles that they think will fit around the mommy's belly. After everyone pulls off their tissue tiles, take some tissue and put it around the mommy's belly and tear that amount off. Count the amount of tiles that were used and the person with the closest number of tiles wins.

This game you will need a bowl of rice (not cooked) and some safety pins. Mix the rice and the safety pins in the bowl. Blindfold a guest and have them dig in the bowl and pull out as many safety pins as they can in one or two minutes. Whoever pulls out the most safety pins wins.

This game you will need a basket full of baby items, such as bibs, pacifiers, etc. Make sure there is about 8 to 12 items in the basket. Take it around to people at the shower and tell them to remember what's in the basket. Once you've showed everyone the basket, put it away and ask them to write down what they saw in the basket. The person with the most correct answer wins.

Hope this helps. I've been to so many baby showers.

We played "Winner Takes All"
Basically, it's like a lottery with a twist...everyone who wants to play puts in a secret amount of money. Then players are asked to guess how much $ they think is in the container...
Mom-To-Be counts the loot and the person who comes closest without going over "takes All"

BUT! Here's the twist...the host of the party brings out a bottle of ALL laundry detergent for the winner and MOMMY gets to keep the money!!
