i think the people who feel insulted by it, dont understand what he is trying to show, that everyone has weeknesses, like racism etc.

is a fantasticly funny film, and people are moaning thats it has portrayed people in a bad light. I bet Kazakstan tourism goes up (thus helping there economy).

its a funny film, done by a funny guy. watch it with an open mind, and look at the subtleness of the way he brings out truthful answers from people who dont want to says the things they have.

If you dont like it, ok. at least watch it 1st before moaning about it.

I think people should be a little less uptight and anal rententive and get to the realisation that there is such a thing as humour in this world.
I love Borat and all stuff Cohen does, but I do think a whole film would be a bit of an overdose.
But that is just an opinion.

It is funny, but i think some of the humour is stupid humour, theres not much witt to it as such, however, i did like the film and would recommend it.

The funniest scene was when Azamat was masterbating over Pamela and Borat strolled in from the bathroom. I had to close my eyes. lolollllllllllllllll

I don't know how I feel about it. There were some scenes that I didn't like, but most of it was funny. I have to say the funniest scene to me was when the kids come running to his vechile and scream because of the bear. Or when he was trying to learn how to say an American joke and the man who was teaching him was a getting a bit irritated.

If you haven't seen it, it is worth seeing.

I can't stand the man, he's irritating, insulting and discusting. And seriously I don't understand how anyone can find him funny. What is funny about kissing your own sister for laughs. I mean ew! He'll go down in flames soon enough, just like Ali G.

I've only seen clips advertising the film but I'm not planning on paying money to see it at the cinema....it doesn't appeal. The clips I saw had his swimming trunks up over his shoulders and the other had him washing his face out of a toilet bowl.

It's suitable for an American audience, they appreciate that kind of thing.

yes, I liked it. I think all this dialogue we are having, on the internet, and the exposing of hypocracy in movies and shows such as Borat and South Park...help to make us think---otherwise we becoem zombies...only through experimentation do we learn..

although I think Borat was funny, it had stupid humor (as said by another answerer) in many cases that was not funny.

I also think, mostly, its a very progresssive firlm to make uptight americans learn to get over the uptightness and renounce hypocracy...

I think the latin american community, should do a movie about the casualness of latin americans--and the type of society.

I think uptight americans, especially liberals, would do them good to visit or see some of the latino culture---they will see that just a relaxed, and open enviroment...and if people (women/men) both get over their inhibitions and uptightness--to just realize that life is a joke..

I think then america would become a better place..

this is why these people (comic social extremists): south park creators and borat, raise such a "hellfire" because everyone has such inhibitions...

to me, they just express what I already know.

yea, trey parker, matt stone, and sacha are eggheads (the retarded ones, not the smart ones)...and their a tee bit creepy and fucked up--but, their exageration is a way of getting the point across to the complacent and lazy minded american---especially the liberal american, who is uptight up his *** about political correctness and then goes and sees kid porn---

it just catches people off guard, to reveal the hypocracy, which a lot of people, as stated, are just lazy minded, or are just very conformist...

usually, if you become more relaxed and open-minded...you can "create" an atmosphere that defuses the "uptight" enviroment that you sometimes find...you can do that, without going to the excesses of Borat and south park creators.

But, to get people "off-their wagon" maybe some extremists are needed at the BEGINNING to start the dialogue..

we are in social and intellectual evolution all the time...we should try to reach a place where we are frank with one another, and am ore honest society, even if it admits some of the inherent follies in man...
otherwise you just get worse **** from it.....why not let preists marry? when its starkingly obvious they are using more divergent paths to quelch the sexual impulse?why not realize we are supporting isreal in the bias manner that we are, due to the isreali lobby?

its a whole bunch of things. When such things get suppressed, due to unreasonable taboo's and the good ol'hypocracy and lies that just insult the intelligence, then people start resenting such things and they rebell..

these are just the rebellious outlets..

to start ACTING like these people is not the way either..--that would be disrespecting yourself in many instances...---but their loss of face, is partly won over with their exposition of hypocracy in society and their making fun of society at the expense of the viewer...thus, inherently respectable..

but as people, they are not respectable--for examp--south park--has a lot of things WHITHIN the episode...that are not focusing on the point.--or necessiarly funny..but are just wild tangents that are PRETTY FUCKED UP AND CREEPY--

to encite the "wHAT da ****?" reaction, that inherently is also a form of comedy...but at the expense of the artist..

at times it can also be at the expense of the viewer, if the viewer does not even get the joke due to their brainwashing of society--

Borat was a very good movie and very funny...it points out to ignorant and uptight americans that they are ridiculous...for the regular thinker though, it contains nothing new--its what you have always known...the only thing that it has to offer to someone like me, is the crass humor around such points.(or watching uptight people get riled up about--pss, such as reporters--lol)..that are funny at times...otherwise, its just sacha as a person you are laughing at ...and I rather see a good Bond movie over the retarded antics of an egghead.

However, concidering this Bond movie is not expected to be very good, I recommend you go see borat, its probably more healthy for you (average uptight american)..

Otherwise, be a gentlement, make your point, as out there as it might be, but make it polite, otherwise your just crass...and your just another one---

in the end, your making fun of yourself, at the expense of yourself and your audience...to demean your enviroment.

i thought it was insultingly BRILLIANT!! Sasha baron Cohen ingeniously tackles anti-semitism by being overly anti-jew. he makes us realize how absurd being prejudice really is by giving us the most ridiculous anti-semite stereotypes possible. if you were offended by the movie then that's your own personal insecurities you need to deal with. instead of preaching that this movie is insulting and evil, try identifying WHY you're so disgusted by this movie. must see movie of the year. hope there's a sequel!
