A geometric figure with four sides is a quadrilateral. This definition is irrespective of length of sides.

Moreover, you can divide this category in to following sub- categories
1. Square :A square is a quadrilateral with four equal sides and four equal right angles.

2. Rectangle : A rectangle is a quadrilateral With four equal right angles, and two sets of parallel opposite sides that are equal.

3. Rhombus : A Rhombus has got 4 sides of equal length and opposite sides are parallel and angles are equal.

3. Parallelogram :A parallelogram is a quadrilateral that has two pairs of opposite sides that are parallel and equal to one another. It differs from a rectangle in that its angles are not right angles. A rhombus is an equilateral parallelogram, with all sides equal.
4. Trapezium(trapezoid) : A trapezoid is a quadrilateral with two opposite sides parallel but not equal.
5. Kite : A kite has got two pairs of sides next to each other that have equal length. But none of the sides are parallel.

I hope this clears your idea in wider sense. Any time you want to classify a geometric figure with 4 sides, just look in this and you will know what should you call that figure.
