Yes.
This answer deals with a 15 yr old girl's advent of puberty and the menstruation that goes with it.
Because of the blood loss associated with menstruation, the girl will require higher iron intake than the boy to avoid becoming anemic.

I had this question and I know this is the right answer.
A 15 year old girl has entered puberty and therefore has begun her menstrual cycle. The regular buildup of the uterine lining and loss of blood when this is released means the girl requires more blood. Iron is needed to make blood therefore the girl would require more iron than a boy who does not have a menstrual cycle.

A 15 year old girl would need more iron than a 15 year old as she is losing more blood than a boy, due to her period.

Because she's menstruating by the time she's 15 yrs old, so she loses blood on a regular basis. More iron is needed to produce more blood than a boy needs because he doesn't lose blood regularly.

I came too late to answer. They're right when they say it's because of her age and menstrual cycles that she requires more iron than a boy of the same age.
