Good question. Some doctors will refuse to aloow it. I know in my own area, there are some who won't allow it even if the mother wants to try. Some hospitals do not allow it. There are 2 within minutes of each other where I'll be delivering, but the one does not allow VBAC deliveries.

So, with this having been said, I have had a c-section that was due to a failed induction where my son's heartrate was dropping into the 40's and staying there. I have since delivered 2 children...both VBAC, and both induced, though that is rare. I am 19 weeks pregnant today, and though I don't stand to have a large baby, I HAVE delivered a 9+ pounder before, and told my doc if that's the case again, he can sign me for a C-section. Well, oddly enough, he will not allow me to delivery vaginally if the baby were that big. I ahve no clue the cut off weight, but....kinda is a relief!! LOL!!!

I think it will depend on your health, how the baby is positioned, what kind of cut was made.....just check with your doctor. Generally, there is that option available of you want to try, but check what your doctor and hospital allow. Good luck!!!!

Well you can have a VBAC, but that will be up to your doctor. I myself have had 5 children and 4 c-sections. My doctor would not let me have a VBAC because my daughter was so big. Alot of Mothers can have normal child birth after having a c-section. Talk to your doctor. I dont see why they wouldt let you have a vaginal birth.

This is definitely something to ask your doctor; however, many women who have had c-sections are able to have perfectly normal vaginal deliveries in subsequent pregnancies.
