Linkin Park is not metal, and "Enter Sandman" is one of the worst songs ever recorded. It's difficult to decide who is the best metal band, since there are so many different subgenres of metal that several bands are very good at. However, I'd put these on the list:

Black Sabbath, You see long before there was a radio station that would play metal Ozzy and the gang grew into a super group and formed a genre without ever getting any air play! without them we would all be listening to the Bee gees forever!!!!
