Education is the key to fight against poverty. Government can do nothing unless the public get involved in the war on poverty.

I am a Veteran form the War on Poverty. They say the War is over but I believe more damage was done by our own Gov. than good.With less higher paying jobs..more lower paying jobs with no benifts,and a much higher cost of liveing I'm afraid I'm going to be recalled into active duty.

It isn't that poverty won or lost, it is that the Republic party decided to declare war on the policies of FDR that declared war on that poverty.

The Republic party has been attempting, and somewhat successfully so, for the past 12 years to undo FDR's New Deal that protected our social programs that were preventing us from becoming a 3rd world nation.

To be honest, I don't think there is enough money in all the countries combined to end poverty. It's a sad truth, but everybody can contribute their little grain of sand to a good cause. So many poor children starving every day,so,so sad.

Well, no, but the Democrats have been able to keep the impoverished loyal to them by keeping them dependent on the government for their livelyhood all the while convincing them that they are looking out for their best interest.
