I read somewhere that I'm not supposed to give hamsters any food containing sugar, but I also read that they love uncooked pasta. Right now, I have anthony's thin spaghettini, and I looked in the back, it says it has 2% of sugar. Is that alright?

Also, I planned to go buy them some baby carrots tomorrow. Do I just pick any bag in find in the geocery store, or do I have to look for a particular brand and make sure they didn't put any salt or sugar in it (I don't even know if they normally do that)

Don't give them pasta. They might love it, but it could swell in their bellies and cause serious harm or even death. Rice is the same.
Carrots are fine. Try to buy the 'bunches' of them rather than the 'bagged' kind. But either is fine. 'Bunches' are usually a little fresher than the bagged, but most any brand will be fine.
Natural sugar shouldn't be a problem, like in apples and fresh fruits, but don't add sugar to anything and give it to them. No added salt either. If you feed them canned veggies, they'll add salt to the canning process, check the labels for this. Low sodium veggies, or limited reg veggies should be fine.
I feed my rats canned green beans, but only one or two apiece and not the whole can. They also like mixed veggies from the can, again, I limit how much I give them at once.

If you don`t feel safe giving them that , there is tons more houshold stuff you probably can give your hamster right now , here are a few:
milk , cheese , lettuce , cucumber , and there is a lot more !
