I just read about the PS3 launch in america. At least one person has been shot, and one console sold to a UK fellow for $15,100 (about £7,000).
What on earth posesses people to fall into this hype. Can't they just wait a couple weeks til more turn up in the shops??

I agree. Yeah, everyone wants the system (not me, im getting a Wii) but it's no reason to kill and/or go broke over! Physcos shouldn't even be allowed to play video games if they're going that crazy!

It's just another way to get rich quick! Look what happened with the "Tickle Me Elmo" some years ago. Ladies were fighting over them in the stores.

it's crazy I agree, there was an interview with a doc. on the news about this compulsion where people to go ga ga over the newest/latest thing...they feel compelled to just have it appearently...shrug....I just don't get it myself...15,thou for a gaming system???....crazy in my mind ...but I'm not a gammer...At a local store here some people were offered $200.00 by some guy for their place in the line....lol...no one took him up on his offer....well I guess while some hard core gamers are really looking to buy for themselves there are many who are just trying to get in on the cash to be made by reselling it.....shaking head...crazy...lol

Not being a (gamer) myself,i really dont know why after all it is only for playing games on whats wrong with a bit of reality now and again?
