Yes, but not as they did: justifying the move on security grounds. I would do it based on equal rights.
In a democratic country no woman (or man) should be treated in a way that violates her right to be free (even if she is used to deny herself).

hmmmmmm it's a puzzling question because I reckon it will just anger the muslims more and I can't take all this fighting and shite, the world is going down the bog because of all of this non-muslim and muslim violence.
We should be allowed to wear anything we want here in theory, and to be honest with you the muslim veils don't really bother me but I think it's just because I'm an arab so the sight of them doesn't really get to me.
I understand though if people get pissed off seeing one of those muslims with the long niqabs and their whole face covered except for their eyes. I think they are just pushing it so maybe they should ban them. However, a head scarf showing the whole face is not anti-social, I mean, americans and british women used to wear them when they were in fashion in the 1960's or whatever. So I think they should still be allowed to wear them.
that's the view of an arab christian living in Britain!

I'm right with the Dutch on this one.
If I went out in a balaclava I would expect the police to stop me and ask me what I was up to.
So why should Muslim women get a special dispensation?

Out of 1.6 million Muslims, around 200 wear the veil. Does that constitute a security threat?!.
Now, a school banning Turkey and offering Halal chicken as no other alternative is 'religious discrimination'.
Which one undermines the Country's Identity?.

No way.....Who is it hurting for them to be veiled? They do it by choice and they have that right. In the UK less than 2% of Muslim women wear a face veil. I think there are bigger issues and far bigger problems that British people should be focusing on. Why are people so offended by a women covering her face? why?

It is sensible legislation. I would extend it to include head compulsory religious head coverings including turbans. There are enough divisions in our society without drawing attention to them by specific clothing. If people wish to wear such garments, they should go and live in a country where this is the norm and causes neither division nor conflict.
As far as arabic countries and visitors from the west are concerned, when we go to certain areas or visit certain buildings we are required to observe their traditions and cover body parts. Few complain, because it is simply respect. This respect should be two way traffic.

UK has a society system that i admire very much ... both political and social ... why should it follow ? Then again ... it works by Alan Watson's theory of legal "transplants" ... i say follow ... why not.
