Or is the Children in need programme the worst entertainment on earth?

Yes I know it was for a good cause but I'm talking about it's entertainment value and nothing else

Yes, it's cheesey and cringe-making, but we're not forced to watch it.

I missed the beginning of last night's 'extravaganza' because I was watching the Bruce Springsteen session on BBC4 which was FANTASTIC!!

When that finished, I tried watching CIN, but when they had those two awful fakes poncing around murdering some dreadful song and whinnying on about how true it was because they are so in lurrrve with each other, I couldn't stand any more and turned over to watch The Buddy Holly Story on TCM2.

it has definitely got the cheese factor. remember the bbc news presenters murdering queen's bohemian rhapsody, a few years ago? yep, i thought so! the only good thing about children in need is it raises money for childrens causes but otherwise, entertainment-wise, its sheer pants! who wants to sit through the whole 7 hours of z-list celebs and reality tv people embarassing themselves? thank goodness therefore i didn't watch any of it. yet this is another example of tv standards in britain going down the drain i guess.

Yes - on reflecting about previous years, there were more comedy sketches & less z list "celebrities" trying to further themselves by such dumb boring ideas as hair cutting. Seems to have gone off the boil somewhat. They'd better concentrate on a different format for next year if they are to attract viewing figures which bump up the total. It seems they are resting on their previous successful years.

I have to admit,I sat through part of it last night-purely to see Tony Hadley. Soon as he was done,I turned it off and went to bed! What happened to all the comedy sketches? It used to be a good laugh!

Yeah its pretty cheesy and cringe worthy really, but it is all for a good cause so I dont think it could be called the worst on earth. and kids love it so you may be slightle over reacting.

in the begging it was good (after 1990) but the programme has gone downhill and features the talentless wombats that win reality shows and its not that interesting anymore.
