I have a very simple method to share with you-

every morning, as soon as you wake up, sit on your bed and try to recollect what all were your programes for the day and while you go to sleep, sit for a while and recollect all that you did on that day, right from brushing your teeth till getting on to bed and start sleeping.

this exercise will make you remember almost everything.

There's only way by which you can improve your memory and thats by being interested in your subject matter. Unless you become interested in a matter your mind not tend to remember. Though your subconscious mind records it all but your conscious mind can't recall it in time and you complain of your bad or failing memory.

Actually we can improve our memory like we improve our muscles by regular exercise.

There are certain laws for improving memory.
1. Association- associate the thing you want to remember with the thing you already remember.
2. Exaggeration/Action- exaggerate the thing you want to remember and thats also in an irrational, ridiculous way and see that picture for few seconds in your mind. You'll never forget it.
3. Repeat periodically which you've learnt.

Lastly I'll suggest you read some good book on memory development. It may help you a lot. Specially if you can lay your hands on the books written by Harry Lorayne.

Best of luck. Happy remembering.

It is hard to beileve when there are times like you remember how you played a prank on your teacher in 4th grade but u dont remember the last place where u put ur keys or glasses.Reason? We live in a very fast moving world..so much to do ..so much to plan, and we take time out to look into the treasure of the past whcich makes u smile or laugh.
How to get rid of short term memory? I would advice you to do meditation for 15 minutes everyday. It will help you to concentrate on things and u must always be alert.

THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY and that is the only way to improve memory power. Our ancestors were brilliant in this technique. They used to study by-heart the hymns and verses and poems. Keeping poems of verses by-heart - in memory - would create a channel in brain (like a recorded cassets) innumerable channels thus created are distinctive (like a computer search). Whenever, something visible or heard, our inner conciousness go to the 'search event' because of the curious inner anxiety. (Sorry for space restriction). Study at-least a four line hymn or verse, preferably poem (not prose) every day. Tell me after 15 days. I am sure you would give me a gift for this advice.

Try a method called ' Air-writing'. Actually, it means you write a word using your finger in the air. For example, if you want to remember the spelling of ' umbrella ' , you can imagine your index finger as a pen and write ' umbrella '. When you repeat this for the 3rd time you will be surprised to visualise that word in the form of blazing light.

You can also try a method called ' blind writng ' where you must write a word or phrase in your forearm, using your index finger and closed eyes. In this way your memory is activated almost instantly.Take care if you try for a long time during your first attempt, you may develop headache.

Use it or loose it. Read, do puzzles, cross words, maze games, the card game of concentration. Practice memorising lists, items on a shelf and test your self. In time things will improve.
Like your body your brain needs exercise and a healthy diet to use its muscles.
