DNA is a nucleic acid found in the nucleus of a cell and consisting of a polymer formed from nucleotides and shaped like a double helix & is associated with the transmission of genetic information. DNA contains the genetic material of the organism and plays a very pivotal role in the evolution of the organism. 1. You require DNA replication during the first phase of meiosis to produce sperm and egg cells.

2. Your body is constantly replacing old, dead cells with new cells. For cell division to occur, DNA replication must also occur.

In short, you would not exist without DNA replication.
