Practice is the best way to improve really, and it's just a matter of building your own confidence. However, there are a few methods to use which can help you to sketch:

Try giving yourself a time limit -ie 60 secs, to quickly sketch things. You'll find that you end up drawing the most important parts of an object.

Also, something that really helped me was breaking things down into 'volumes' or shapes, roughly at first, and then sketch in an outline and details etc.

You can also play around with different colours of paper, (white pencil on black paper, for example), as well as different media
(charcoal, graphite, pastels etc.)

Hey star tomboy,

Since you like to draw, I am going to assume you mean Sketching, not 'stretching'. Here are some sites you will like. Try to surf through a number of the search string sites and find what you like.

Stretching what? Your hamstrings?
