You will find that any child in excess of 7 feet tall will have difficulty, whatever the car. However, if you mean MINIMUM height, the answer is they need to be either 1.35 metres tall OR over the age of 12.

Thus, a 1.3m 11-year-old needs a booster seat, whereas a 1m 12-year-old doesn't.

That would depend on what state you are in. In Texas they say a child should be in a car seat up to 4' tall and 80 lbs.

If your talking about the new car seat regulations which have just come into force then its 4ft, 5 inches. or twelve years old

Well that depends, do you have a mini?? If they've outgrown it then you may need to get a 4x4. When they out grow that, put them on the bus..
