Like many other "unpronounceable names" for the English people , anything concerned with the names in the Indian state of Orissa was also a victim. The english coolly changed the names to suit their convenience. Odissi is anything related to the art and culture of the people of Oriyas, in India.

Well if that's the correct spelling then I don't know, sounds like it's in another language but if you meant "odyssey" it's an epic journey or a work of literature (Homer's Odyssey).
