They're a reminder of the demands of modern society. Money things are so taxing these days. If you want to cut them off for a change use The Elvis Presley approach:Return To Sender. You may be left in the dark but you won't have to pay attention to them anymore.

I tried this - even if you don't pay they just send you another one in a different colour (red).

OOOOOOOOH - I just had a thought - in the UK we have "The Postal Preference Service" We can demand that nothing is delivered that we didn't ask for like ppl trying to sell us credit cards and the like.

legally then, shouldn't we be able to stop them sending any bills as well?

(I'd love to see that one tested in a court of law)

I stopped paying my bills & tons of more bills came.
Then the light's went out and it became very cold.
So I paided a few and the lights came back on and I was warm again.
The one's I didn't pay stopped sending bills.
Then big men turned up on my door step.
I never answered the door (too scared!!)
But now they have stopped calling.
Now I get lovely letters from solictors.

I pay most things through my bank so no bills just statements.............Are you from a cold planet?.............If you wanna be in the COLD don't pay your bills..........:o)

Too true, and especially don't pay them if they're rude to you, that'll teach them.

To the guy who said they'll send a red one instead, try not paying your council tax, they send you many different colours, pink, yellow, green. They're very pretty.

sure don't pay your bills and see how fast your electric, cable, phone and what ever gets shut off and see how fast your landlord serves you with eviction papers or if you own your own house see how fast it gets put on the auction block. and you can sit back and watch your credit score go down hill!

Ostriches used this approach quite successfully, since they came on this earth. Burying their heads in the sand,I mean.

Is it something that you know that you owe?
Then yes.
If it is something that you are unsure about, call them and find out more information.
