The Aussies were just making sure that England pick him for the first test...that way there will be at least one cheap wicket in each innings for them.

despite the fact that this is not even a question, but a statement, as much as i would like you to be right i believe that your words will be well eaten by the end of december. you underate the aussies at your peril i'm afraid. coming to the end of certyain careers as maybe, most of the greats provide their best results in the twilight years. something to do with class and experience.
weigh up the two sides and it'sa close run thing but all the post ashes 2005 hype is clouding the issue. australia beat us in all departments apart from having youth on their side. for example my top X1 of the 2 teams would be:
1) hayden
2) langer/strauss
3) ponting
4) pietersen
5) hussey
6) flintoff
7) gilchrist
8) warne
9) lee
10) harmison (if on form)
11) mcgrath
i just don't think the bowling is as good as we think or it was in 2005. this one last time i think the old boys have the edge. come on england, prove me wrong, please

brett lee is the best bowler in the world at the moment but it doesnt matter we aren't going to win the ashes anyway because are batting line up relys to much on flintoff whereas the aussies can bat all the way down there order

It is too early to jump into conclusion. The real test starts when the ashes series start. Let us wait and see who comes out stronger.

Come off it explain why the heck england got not too far in the ICC champions trophy a competition that australia coincedently won. And as far as the players in question go at least you know who they are I don't know half that many on the english list

as Ive said before we are not a one day team the longer game suits our style of play better, i think we will retain the ashes 2-1.
the ashes start on wed at 11pm GMT, this is the last warm up game

Let wait and see on Thursday. England only need to draw the series and to retain the series.
