Veiled in flesh, the Godhead see. Hail the incarnate Deity. Pleased as man, with man to dwell: Jesus, our Emmanuel.

Mild, He laid His Glory by; born that man no more may die. Born to raise the sons of earth, born to give them second birth.

You got that right, my friend. Unfortunately, in these modern times it's more like the lyrics from Tom Lehrer's "Christmas Song."

Hark, the Herald Tribune sings, advertising wondrous things....

God rest ye merry merchants, may you make the Yuletide pay...

Angels we have heard on high, tell us to go out and BUY!!!

Just a bit cynical, I know, we can all keep the real meaning of Christmas within us, if we really want to. (Does the spelling "Xmas" irritate you as much as it does me? Actually, it should bug everybody.) And if you try to pass that meaning on to everyone you encounter this holiday season, it can't help but take root in some of them, and they can pass it on too....that doesn't sound like much, but it's the best we can do. So you have a Blessed Christmas, I'll do the same, and remember what Tiny Tim said... "God bless us, every one."
