Economically the US is a far better place to run a business as small business in America is encouraged and not held back by endless taxes, small minded bureaucrats taking a slice of your hard earned profits and local council demanding a fortune in rates .
Politically .America seems to be run by Israel ,The British as a rule are not really comfortable with the whole Israel/Palestine question and don't see it in the same light.
A big difference in the way US/British deal with things politically is to see how these 2 nations deal with terrorist threats and attacks..The US answer is to wield their undoubted military might ,the British like to use subterfuge.Infiltrate the enemy create informers and make them turn question and doubt each other before finally imploding (see how they defeated the IRA)

The fact the Blair has led Britain into the US war with Afghanistan and later Iraq which if both Blair and Bush had the guts to own up to would admit they have lost is an aception to the rule ..

BTW The US war of independence was really an extension of Britains never ending war with France and Britain's defeat was a defeat to France not really American forces .

Politically we had a rocky relationship until WW2. After WW2 things smoothed over and relations grew.

Economically we have been cooperating since the Revolutionary War. Even After the war we still traded with them.

The US kicked the UK's butt in the American revolution. Who whould have thought we would be the "closest of allies?"

Politically, our national policies are almost identical. We have the same views and interests.

Economically, we are in the running for the country that has the "best credit score."
