i used to work in a hotel, assume nothing of the clenliness of anytihng in your room
my hotel was not 5 stars, however it was recently the marriott hotel of the year but not this year, and it won against every single other marriott, resorts or anything under marriott period, it was a huge deal. there are hundereds of rooms in hotels, but not hundereds of supervisors or room checkers, sure everything looks clean, has to look passable of course but often sheets don't get changed. think about what other people have done in that bed for a minute. once a lady found a pair of mens underwhere that had been under the sheets in her bed. room attendants don't make much and get paid by the room...
so tipping may help ensure your room is clean. tip everyday, don't leave one big one at the end of your stay, the person who cleaned your room all week may be off that day

House keeping keeps everything looking good. A hotel is rated on several factors including cleanliness. A nice hotel is only nice if it's clean and the beds are made properly and there are enough towels.
5 star hotels are pretty swanky, so they have high standards for keeping things clean.

he's not procuring "stuff," -- he's procuring self-appreciate and vanity. Promiscuous spending, provides him the phantasm of being a large-shot for some days. Then he makes you face the truth. In different words, that's a psychological difficulty, not a monetary difficulty. He has an habit to spending. you may't nag him into smart habit. you want to modify the rewards of being a (short-time period) massive-shot for the rewards of being a wise father. compliment him even as he shows progression -- in spite of if a small progression. compliment him to different persons. call him "a competent husband and dad, a savvy shopper; a guy who's attentive to how tocontinual a problematic good purchase, etc. don't be obvious about it, yet subtly replace the rewards of being a large spender with the rewards of being a pragmatic guy. Make him experience a similar rewards for being prudent that he felt or being a large-shot.

I would say satisfaction of the guest depends upon the effort of house keeping and so the quality of hotel.
