You are a white man and your wife is black and you have one child together and another on the way.You meet another white guy and make friends with him.He calls you one night and while talking on the phone to him you overhear him and his girlfriend jeering "f*cking Ni**er!" and other racial slurs at a black guy tat drove past them in a nice truck.When you ask him why he says this he answers angrily"cause he must think he's special in a nice truck! he still ****!"?You ask him if he's racist,he says why.You reply that you dont like that languageused toward people he says"What is your wife BLACK or something?" in a joking manner.You say yes she is and he scoffs in surprise like he cant believe it...then says"I guess I should have said "negro".He makes a comment that he should have hisgirlfriend call your home and ask for you.You tell him you dont/wont tolerate disrespect to yur home or family.He claims he's just joking and makes an excuse to getoff the phone.How would you handle this?

Something like that isn't a joke, it's deep-seated.
It's your wife and children, you should end that friendship. It sounds like your friendship is a new one anyway, since he hasn't met your wife. Your wife and especially, your children shouldn't have to endure being around a racist person like that.
(Your children will have to face these issus sooner or later, but it doesn't have to be brought directly to their door by their own father.)

There is an OLD saying that *Birds of a feather flock together*. Don't believe everything you hear. We all been in this world so long,does it matter.If we traced back our families,what would we find???

I grew up around so MUCH prejudice,and NOT just from White People. People of color are JUST AS prejudiced.

Um let's see...This is a hard one...Yea right...Why are you even contemplating how to handle this...If you are a white man married to a black woman, then he just disrespected your wife and your child. Why would you even still consider being his friend if that's what you are doing? He should no longer be your friend because he has no respect for you or your family. End of story!!! And if you can't end your friendship with him, then you have no respect for your family or yourself.
